⅓ lb Asparagus
2 strip Bacon
1 ⅓ tbsp Brown sugar
1 ⅓ tbsp Butter
½ tsp Tamari soy sauce
¹⁄₁₆ tsp Garlic powder
¹⁄₁₆ tsp Black pepper
Directions
- 1
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- 2
Trim the woody ends from the asparagus. Divide into equally portioned bundles and wrap each with 1 strip of bacon, starting about 1/2 inch below the tips. Secure with a toothpick and place in a low-sided casserole dish.
- 3
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar, butter, soy sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper. Bring just to a boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar, then remove from heat.
- 4
Pour the hot sauce over the asparagus bundles. Bake until the asparagus is tender and the bacon is cooked through and beginning to crisp, about 25–30 minutes.
- 5
Discard toothpicks and transfer bundles to a platter. Spoon any pan sauce over the top and serve warm.
